Install the Comet USB-driver

Instructions to install driver for Windows 7 (32/64 bit)

Comet USB -driver is compatible with Windows 7 64 bit! You have to install Comet USB -driver and Active X -control in to your computer, in order to be able to load money by using MiniUSB-cable.

NOTE! Comet USB-driver is compatible with Windows XP/Vista/7. Driver is not compatible with  Macintosh or Linux. Browser has to be Internet Explorer (6 or later), Mozilla Firefox (max 3.5.8) or Google Chrome (Extrensions enabled). When installing the driver, you have to hav e system administrator privileges.

NOTE! If you use other operating system than Windows XP/Vista/7 you should use "Load money into your Comet by using random code" as payment method. When using this method, you don´t need to install anything in to your operating system. 

Part 1 – Installing Comet USB driver

Step 1. Start here

The Comet must NOT YET be connected to miniUSB-cable.

Click the icon below

Select "Save"

Step 2
Save the driver for example on your Desktop, or to another location where you can find it easily.

If you try to install the driver directly, system may announce that you do not have privileges to install it in to your system, even thouch you were system administrator.

Step 3

After saving the driver file on your desktop (or other location), close the window, which asks to install the driver.

Find the downloaded file on your desktop and rightcklick your mouse. Select "Run as a system administrator".

Step 4
If there appears a security warning on your display asking 

"Do you allow this program to make changes on this computer?

Origin: Downloaded from internet

Select  "Yes"

 

  

Step 5
There appears a window: "Wellcome to hardware installarion Wizard...."

Select "Next"

Step 6
Driver installation begins.

Step 7
You are asked for confirmation: "Would you like to install this device software?" 

Select ”Install”, and the installation process continues.

Step 8
Wait for a while and there appears a window announcing that installation was OK and it is time to connect Comet to MiniUSB-cable.

Select ”Finish”. Window disappears.

Step 9
Now it is time to connect your Comet to a MiniUSB-cable.

Connect the cable´s broader end to the computer, and the narrower end to Comet.

Comet must be switched off, when you connect it to your computer. ”USB” -text appears on the display of your Comet.

Step 10
After few seconds Windows announces in the screens bottom right corner that it has found a new hardware, and hardware is being installed (Windows has found the Comet).

Installation continues automatically on the system background. System announces when the device is installed and ready to be used.

The driver is installed and you can continue on part 2 - installing Actici. Jatka Active X asennusta osassa 2.

Part 2 - Install Active X -Control

If you are using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, an add-on/extension has to be installed to the browser before installing  the Active X.

If you are using Internet Explorer, please continue with the instructions below.


By now:
- you have installed Comet USB -driver
- Comet is connected to your Computer "USB" on Comet´s display
- You have System Administrator privileges

Your can install ActiveX Control when you open a page, which demands Active X. It is enough that you open this link in a new window and follow instructions below ”Load money into Comet by using MiniUSB-cable".

Step 1
When you enter the above site, there appear IMPORTANT NOTE in the middle of the screen of your computer. There is asked "Did you notice the information bar?" Select ”Continue”.

Please find the information bar. It is located as you can see in the picture below. Leftclick the infromation bar, and select ”Install Active X” from the appearing menu.

Step 2
Usually there appear a window. Select "Retry"

Step 3
When installation of the Active X -control is ready, a red dot disappears from the top of "Connect to Comet" -button. When you click the button you can see your Comet serial number and current balance appearing.

Step 4
You can now start loading money into your Comet here ”Load money into Comet by using MiniUSB-cable".

Please remember to click "Load money into Comet" -button after your payment is accepted!
