Install the Comet USB-driver

Instructions to Install Comet USB -driver for Windows XP/Vista (64 bit)

Comet USB -driver is now compatible with 64 bit Windows! You have to install Comet USB -driver and Active X -control into your computer, if you load money into Comet by using miniUSB-cable. This Driver is compatible with Windows XP/Windows Vista (64 bit),  Internet Explorer (6.0 or later), Mozilla Firefox (3.5.8. or earlier) and Google Chrome (Extensions enabled).

NOTE! If you have another operating system or browser than mentioned earlier, please load money by using this method: "Load money into Comet by using random code".  If you load money by using codes, you don´t have to install anything or follow instructions below.

Loading money by using USB-cable connection, is a faster way than loading by using codes. With the cable you are also able to update Comet and read data out of it. 

You have to install these settings only once. Following instructions shows how installation is done step by step.

NOTE! Following pictures are from Internet Explorer version 6.0. They might be different in later versions of Internet Explorer.

PART 1 – Installing Comet USB driver

Step 1. Start here

The Comet must NOT YET be connected to miniUSB-cable.

Click the icon below

Step2
Click Run for the question "Do you want to run or save this file?"

WINDOWS VISTA USERS: Windows Vista may inform you after selecting Run, that your privileges won´t allow you to install any software in to your system, even though you are the System Administrator on your computer. In such case, click the CometUSBDriver.exe link above and save the file for example on your Desktop. After downloading and saving the file, go to your Desktop and click mouse´s right button on CometUSBDriver.exe file icon. Select "Run as System Administrator" from the appearing menubar. Then follow these instructions step by step.


Step3
If you will internet securitys warning next, Click Run for the question "Do you want to run this software?"









Step4
Read the instructions and Click Next on the page "Welcome to Comet USB Driver Installation!"
















Step5
Click ”Continue Anyway” (not 'STOP Installation') for the message "The software you are installing ... has not passed Windows Logo testing ...”














Step6
Wait a few seconds for the page "Please use a USB cable and connect your Comet USB to your PC, NOW !".

Click ”Finish”












Step7

At this stage, please use a USB cable and connect your Comet device to the USB port on your computer.
Comet has to be switched OFF, before connecting.
After connecting, there will appear ”USB” in Comet´s display.
After few seconds, appears "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard” (Windows has found Comet).


Step9
Select ”No, not this time” if this option appears on the page "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard"

Click ”Next”












Step 9
Click Next for the question "What do you want the wizard to do?". Verify that "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" is selected.
Click ”Next”.















Step10
Click 'Continue Anyway' (not 'STOP Installation') for the message "The software you are installing ... has not passed Windows Logo testing ..."














Step11
Wait a few seconds and then click “Finish” on the page "Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard".
Click ”Finnish.













Installation of the Comet USB Driver is now completed.

Windows now shows the "Found new Hardware" announcement, and then "The New hardware is installed and ready for use" - confirming that driver installation ended successfully.

Comet is connected to your computer with USB-cable. Now you can continue with PART 2 – installing ActiveX Control –component into your web browser. ActiveX control enables the communications between your Comet and your browser

Part 2 - Install ActiveX Control -component

Requirements :

• You have already installed Comet USB Driver to your system
• Comet is connected to your computer with USB-cable
• You have System Administrator rights (to install new softwares)

ActiveX control enables the communications between your Comet and your browser, and has to be installed to your web browser (Internet Explorer 6.0 or later). It is automatically installed when needed - after your confirmation. You just have to move into such page, where ActiveX Control is needed. For example, such page is: "LOAD MONEY INTO YOUR COMET". Select the link and go in the page. It is the page, you are supposed to load money to Comet by using USB-cable.

Step 1
After you have opened the page, there will be an announcement in the top of page, as shown in the picture below. Click the announcement after it has appeared. After clicking, there will be a menu. Select ”Install ActiveX Controll...”



Step 2
If the announcement beside appears on the screen, click ” Try Again”
NOTE: picture is from swedish version browser.
If the announcement won´t appear, just continue to next step.


Step 3
Next you are asked ”Do you want to install this software?”

Click ”Install”.







Step 4
If announcement beside appears, jus click ”Install”
If the announcement won´t appear, just continue to next step.








FINISH ActiveX Control is automatically installed, and former messages will disappear. After few seconds ActiveX Control installation will be ready. You will notice the red balloon to disappear (look at the picture beside)



After accomplishing these two parts, you can start to load money to your Comet here "LOAD MONEY INTO YOUR COMET"
